Calculate your ecological footprint

This is a comprehensive list of websites to calculate your environmental footprint, and I invite you to visit them all. All in English.

It’d take you 5 minutes each, and it is indeed interesting stats about the impact that your ways of life have on the environment

  1. Definitely the best around in terms of information, interaction, simplicity and graphics. The problem is that it provides little to the international: only US and Australia appear as possible countries to live in:

(My results: 2-3 planets, the biggest chunk of my footprint goes on services, food and objects. 14.3 hectares are needed for my way of life, I emit 14 tons of CO2 annually I wonder what my footprint would be if I didn’t live in the US or Australia, which is my case).

  1. As the last one, it has a very North focus (things such as heating systems and flights are a novelty for most of us down South), but it’s easy to understand and has good graphics:

(My results: 1.96 planets, I emit 7.97tons of carbon a year, distributed in things, house, travels and food.)

  1. Good to calculate carbon footprints due to air travel:

  1. Interesting top calculate carbon footprints for your car. Again, it has the limitation that it only applies to the US and the UK (as I don’t have a car, I didn’t do it).

  1. Good to calculate carbon footprints due to air travel, a bit poor in graphics and interaction.

  1. An easy overall calculation, easy to get:

  1. Again, a good calculation of carbon footprint, and, ups, it’s in German!

Good luck!
